Information about Polish-Burma Solidarity
The Assotiation "Polish-Burma Solidarity" was founded and registered on the 19 th of January 2005. It was founded by the initiatives of the Burmese living in Poland and Polish citizens who wre intterested in the problems of Burma (Myanmar). The initiative also came from international NGOs who are working on the Burmese issues, in particular the BCN (Burma Centrum Nederlands). The Assotiation is a member of EBN (Euro Burma Network) who is coordinating the works of all NGOs in the EU working on Myanmar issues.
Statutory Aims of the Assotiation
- To propagate relaiable information on the prevailing political situation in Burma/Myanmar.
- To lobby among Polish authorities on the democracy and human right in Burma/Myanmar.
- To support the EU policies on Myanmar and present items to the Polish authorities..
- To inform the Polish public about the human right situation in Myanmar
- To popularise Burmese culture in Poland
The Assotiation is carrying out the statutory aims by gathering information of Burma, analyze and transfer the information to the public throught publications, internet, meetings and lectures, public appearances.
The Assotiation is financed by the membership fees, donation from sponsors and financial assistance from organizations of the same profile.
